Topic help?

I was wondering what all of you thoguht of this topic, I've been having some trouble trying to think of a good topic to write about. But, how do you think an essay of speaking about a passion for learning woudl turn out? The thing is, with an essay like that, i'm not applying to any liberal arts schools (besides really UVa who stresses that idea a little, and UVa doesn't even use the common app.). I have a major picked out already (biology), and do you think it would just send the wrong messages to some of these larger schools that focus more on your specific major? THanks

Here is some good advice on writing college essays:

You might also want to look at the fine book by Harry Bauld, "On Writing the College Application Essay". It is available used for as little as $3.44 plus shipping at:

Thanks, but yeah, a friend is going to lend me the book, but, that still doesn't answer my question..

I think that looking at, and reflecting on, these materials will help you answer the question, on your own, in a way that is best for you.

If we try to answer directly, it'll be a lot harder to get in the swing of it. See what you can do yourself, and get that deeper take that'll get you in.
