Describe the world you come from — for example, your family, community or school — and tell us how your world has shaped your dreams and aspirations.

So first I was going to talk about my drafting class and how it made me realize I wanted to be an engineer. I feel like 1 year of class is too short term to call my "world" though.

Then I was thinking about how I grew up with my grandparents because both my parents worked and my grandmother would tell me things like "Only you know what's best for you" and how that made me more independent, made my own decision, and didn't let others pick on me.

Opinions on these 2 ideas? :/

I just really can't think of one central idea core to who I am.

What about interweaving the two? If your first idea is significant to you, you could feasibly incorporate it somehow. There doesn’t have to be a single central “core” to you, just a coherent way of conveying who you are and how you see the world.

If I remember correctly (probably don’t), I touched upon a lot of things starting from childhood, but strung it all together using my love for music, despite being a very science-y person.

I really like your idea about your grandmother, it would be a good one to use for prompt #2 because it highlights a characteristic and who you are currently. Prompt #1 should be about what has shaped you to become who you want to be in the future, and so mentioning your engineering course (even if it wasn’t that long) is good for this question. Also, it doesn’t matter if it was too short term because it’s your passion, and nobody can truly interpret your passion as well as you.

dang ur already preparing for the next cycle-good for you! :D

My advice would be to think of the word “world” broadly, it can mean anything from school,to ,lol, the bathroom, to your favorite coffee shop, anywhere in between, and/or all of thoses things! Don’t limit yurself! <:-P

Thanks guys. Good things to think about. I really appreciate the input @retrorocket @fatimakhan @KimberlyLaila
