Topics for UC Prompt #2: Which one do YOU like?

after a period of self-reflection there is two accomplishments in the recent years of my life that stand out to me and I am somewhat stumped on which one I should base my second UC personal statement on. I am open to all criticism and suggestions.

The prompt is "Tell us about a personal quality, talent, accomplishment, contribution or experience that is important to you. What about this quality or accomplishment makes you proud and how does it relate to the person you are?"

The main reason I am asking for advice is because I don't know which one of my topics appeals to the values and ethics that the UCs look for ?

Topics Ideas:

1: As an entrepreneur, I created a business of buying and selling items of all sorts (mostly electronics) wholesale or when I saw good deals and reselling them to make a profit and I did this through Ebay, Craigslist and Amazon and I have sold hundreds of items in the last 3 years. I then began working with companies and selling items they no longer need or had extra of. This experience gave me a lot of experience with business ethics.

2 Over the summer following my junior year I taught myself programming in Java so that I could be able to create android apps. I spent the whole summer reading books and building apps to advance my skills and I have built a completed app at this point and hope to post it to the android store soon.

I personally like #2 better. I’m guessing that you included a lot about your business in your application already (sounds awesome by the way). The second one, I feel like you can talk more about your passion and put a little more personality into it, because that’s what the essays are for right? You gave up your summer for doing something you love and I’m sure admissions people will like reading about it. Just make sure you include a lot of reflection instead of focusing more on your achievements. Good luck!

They are both good IMO. Write them both and see which one is better.

I didn’t know that existed. Please educate me…

I like second one:) because every new stuff is hard to learn and hard to start, but self taught is so amazing and showing your creative
