<p>I'm a little confused at what you're asking. The supplement essay should be pretty straightforward, no need to get hypercreative. Just explain your intellectual interests and connect it back to Cornell, yadda yadda. For the common app essay, you can pretty much do whatever. Yes, you create a topic for it or you follow the prompts given.</p>
