Torn between FSU and UCF

UCF has always kind of been the school that I wanted to go to, but I never exactly had a reason why. I got accepted to UCF in Nov. and then FSU in December? As soon as i was accpeted to UCF i wanted to accept, however my mom wanted to wait till UF, unfortunately I was denied. So the next day I immediatly put down my UCF deposit, signed up for housing, financial aid the whole shebang.

Two months later, im not as satisfied. I’m lenient towards going to FSU because it has one of the best criminology programs in the nation, which would probably be my major as I want to become a lawyer. UCF has given me a 6,000 scholarship, and its just so pretty and i has my major as well. But what started this wavering is when someone told me about the acronym U Cant Finish. I looked up the reason why it was called this and needless to say it has played a huge influence on where i want to go.

Would like some opinions on where to go my major would be(Legal Studies/Criminology/Political Science)
I live in tampa 1 1/2 hours from UCF 4 from FSU
And after college undergrad I would most likely move to New York, or Texas for law school.

Considering your intended major, I’d say FSU is probably your best bet. It is located in the capital, after all.

Florida State has the best Criminology and Political Science programs in Florida. Pretty clear choice, even if UFL were in the mix.

Thats what I was thinking @parent2noles. Academically wise, distance, and location FSU is my choice. However UCF has everything else I need. Such as UCF has already offered me a scholarship, I already filled got my bright futures and filled out housing. Pretty much I’ve already put down $600-$700 non-refundable(I think) towards UCF. And since I’m accepting way late idk about scheduling classes getting rooms, bright futures ect with FSU. As well as the fact that since my parents don’t want a meal plan i’m living in apartment style with a kitchen, and the only kitchen dorms at FSU are for returning students.

Were you offered Honors at FSU?

I don’t think so, but I can’t seem to find my acceptance letter. I just accepted my offered admission! And now I’m picking out housing! Which would you recommend on West Side of Campus well out of Sally, DeGraff and Wildwood

For a freshman, I’d recommend the older, east side of campus. DeGraff is on the east side, but it is north of Tennessee Street. I’d suggest DeGraff, Wildwood then Salley of the choices you have. Tough choice between DeGraff and Wildwood - both are new. Wildwood is nearer to the stadium, which can be a blessing or curse. Ditto DeGraff being nearer Tennessee Street.

I suggest visiting each if you can.
