Hey everyone, I am currently a senior in high school and trying to decide between committing to UCLA or UCSB. I got accepted to both for political science. It would really help to receive some comparative input between the two (e.g., is one “easier” than the other for political science or about the same? which is “easier” for general ed classes? what is the ideal student for each school in terms of aspirations, traits, and career outlook? how does social life differ?) As a first generation college student I don’t know much about college and what I’m supposed to be looking for, which also makes me inquire: is one school better for first generation college students? Thanks in advance!
UCLA is one of the best universities in the USA and in the world, and its Political Science program is also top ranked. So, all other things being equal, UCLA would be an obvious choice.
UCLA has better graduation rates for low income students, and likely has better support for low income students. I would highly recommend UCLA over UCSB.
ALSOOO I AM PLANNING ON ATTENDING LAW SCHOOL! I realized I left out this crucial information which is also impacting my decision. Is UCLA solely good for receiving a BA or for attending law school as well?
