Is it 'safe' to download iphone apps off torrents? Music get you in trouble by the RIAA, and movies by another organization, but are these apps okay?

if it has a copyright law, i would be afraid

if its an iphone app, i would just download them from the Apple downloads page. if its freeware, get it from the website from the original developer.

i have heard tthe RIAA especailly targets college students and their networks and those that have got caught have had to pay up big time-dont know if this is just hype though

How do they differentiate what you’re downloading and such?
I’ve recently started downloading a lot of podcasts, which are free. Would they still check me as the download amount is a lot more than usual?

Sometimes there are trackers installed on popular torrents and when downloaded, they send out a message to the company which installed the tracker to let them know that YOU had downloaded it.

bump…
