Toshiba satellite vs. sony viao

im thinking of buying a laptop (my 1st time of buying)

i choose the toshiba Satellite A305-S6905 but i read a lot of review that it is easily to brake :(

i also thought of sony Sony - VAIO VGN-NS240E/P i havent read any reviews in sony but they say it stays a long life
but it is much expensive

im under a budget of $650

pls help if you have any other brand suggestion pls say so...

tanx a lot!

Brand is actually very unimportant compared to the components within them… Every laptop company uses similar components, and prices are determined by the quality of the parts they use. They can use Intel or AMD processors, Integrated GPU or Dedicated, RAM size, Hard Drive size, etc…

Please consider the specs well before buying… being too brand oriented could mean that you get a very bad deal… (I know someone who bought a completely crappy laptop only because it was pink and Sony).

Toshiba for sure. I got a satellite last december and it has been working perfect for me so far. Viaos are a waste of money.

Gryffon is generally correct, but brand is a factor (although a minor one). Different brand laptops have different build qualities, durability, etc. Even things such as noise or fan systems vary from brand to brand.
