Total cost of textbooks? (McCombs)

What is the total cost of textbooks for incoming McCombs freshmen? (on average assuming you buy brand new books)

Thanks.

Razr,

Our son is pursuing a dual degree in business and Plan II. In his first two years, he took only a few business courses (BA101, Economics, Accounting, Statistics, and Communications courses). The rest of his classes fulfilled general requirements or were in Plan II.

He bought his books at the Coop and the bill was around $350-$400 each semester, but the business course books were the least part of each bill. Typically, the business classes would have 2-3 books each while his other courses might have 10-15 books each. In addition, I think you can save money if you shop online. We plan to try that this year.

It's best not to buy from the Co-op. There sites were you can buy used textbooks much more cheaply. (amazon.com, half.com, alibris.com, etc..)

But there's actually a cheaper way! You can actually trade your old textbooks (and non-college books, DVDs, and video games) for the books you need! You receive "trade credits" for the items you sell, then you use those "trade credits" to buy.

The site is <a href="http://www.swapsimple.com/%5B/url%5D">http://www.swapsimple.com/</a></p>

SAVE MONEY! =)

RW is right. There are cheaper places to buy books. You might also look for posts by m1817 for good book-buying links and information.

I am an entering McCombs student (BHP), got all my books from half.com/Amazon, totaled a bit less than $250 (over $100 savings vs. used at the Co-op).
