Hey, I am an international transfer student who is accepted to UMN this fall majoring in Electrical Engineering. Based on the four-year-plan, it stated there the total credit hours needed for degree is 124 hours. I estimated that I will be able to transfer 56 credit hours to there and I need to study 68 credit hours there...But one of my friend who is studying there said that he transfer 60 credit hours to UMN but he still need to study 90 more credit hours there...He said that people graduate with 124 hours is not consider as an engineer since he didn't finish the "major requirement". I'm a bit scare because the 90 credit hours studies may have been out of my budget...I have calculated everything based on the study plan. The "major requirement" should have also included in my calculation. Why is there 90 credit hours left? So if I finished only 124 hours, am I an engineer? I really hope any CSE seniors can help me out... @-) :-S

This is easy to check. You are required to complete the degree requirements in order to graduate. See:

The number of credits (and number of semesters) required will depend on the specific classes you need to take. Good luck.

Thanks :)>-
