Totally confused about Financial Aid for international student

A college I am applying to requires CSS Profile and parent’s most recent income statement. I am an international student who came to Kansas, USA when I was in 7th grade alone. My parents and my one older brother is living in South Korea, and they have jobs (and thus monthly incomes). They are both teachers (one middle school and one college). I myself have never had a job. I am not married, have no children, etc. You get the point; I came here only to study. I am now a high school senior applying for my first year undergraduate year.

Now the questions:

1)This may be too inane question but… I’m supposed to fill out the CSS Profile, right? and my parents are supposed to fill out and submit the 2015 Income Statement?
2)So I started the CSS Profile, assuming I am the one filling out the profile. One question asks: Has the student completed an income tax return for the 2015 tax year?
and gives three options:
a. completed an income tax return
b. will file, but has not completed an income tax return
c. not required to, and will not file an income tax return
Which one am I supposed to fill out? Again, I am a student with no job and thus don’t have no incomes at all…

3)If I choose c on the previous question I don’t have to answer the next question. But if I choose either a or b, I must answer the next question. The next question asks: "What income tax return did or will the student file for the 2015 tax year?
and gives several options: “1040EZ,” “1040A,” “1040,” …, “Other non-U.S. tax return.” Which one should I choose?

Thanks. I am TOTALLY confused and worried about this thing.

For you, the student (no job, no income) you choose the © option.

Your parents info goes in the parent section. Your info goes in the student section.

Thanks @Madison85 and @thumper1 . So I am supposed to answer all the sections in the CSS Profile except the parent section that you talked about, right? and my parents are to fill out the Income Tax Statement?

also another question… on the website of the college I’m applying to it says:

"Signed copies of all pages of your Parents’ 2015 Income Tax Statement for your country of residence should be submitted to the Financial Aid Office. If your parents file separately, please send a copy of each parent’s tax return. Tax returns must be in English. You may translate these documents. Please be sure the student’s name appears at the top of each page. Submit the information to the Financial Aid Office via email, fax, or postal mail.

If your parents do not file tax forms, then you may submit a statement from their employer verifying their 2015 calendar year income. This statement must be in English. You may translate it."

–>Is it I who have to sign the copy of my parents’ 2015 Income Tax Statements? Or is it my parents?

Thanks so much.

Your parents sign each page of the tax forms. The purpose is to show that they know what is being sent and they are saying that it is true.

You need to include your parent income and assets in the parent section…all of it.

You put the student income and assets in the student section.

And your PARENTS sign their tax returns. You sign yours.

Think of it this way – it is usually the parents filling out this form. Of course student also provide their own income if they happen to have any. But most aid is based on parent income and assets.Realize that many HS students do not have their own income but older students applying for aid might.
