Totally freaking out

how many teacher rec’s do we need, wats the min and max.

one of my teachers backed out of writing my rec, beucase she said she has to much on her plate right now ( she’s a professor) and do you guys thing its to late to ask for a rec now for early decision?

According to the admissions website, you need to have two academic teachers fill out the teacher evaluation forms that are part of the Barnard admissions packet (which is downloadable in PDF format).

I do not think it is too late to ask a teacher to do this for you as long as this person knows you and you have a good relationship. How long ago had you asked this person to write a rec? And do you think she would be able to fill out the form instead? Have you looked at the form or shown it to her?

The other possiblity is that she does not feel she would write you the best rec possible (does not know you well enough, perhaps?), so she is trying to encourage you to get another teacher to do this...

You do need to get this to two teachers to do for you ASAP as the deadline is November 15th.

Two is required although you may have one more. My college counselor told me that three is fine but NO MORE. I have three teachers writing recs for me.
