Im coming into my junior year and for two years strongly wanted to leave my small private college. My grades were terrible in highschool but in college i changed all that. i got accepted to a large state university and am deciding if i should stay or not. i feel that for two years, all i thought about doing was leaving but ive been having doubts about transfering. ive met alot of good people at my current school and it is great academically for me but terrible socially. I had opportunites at my school to get involved but i didnt get involved in anything like sports or clubs because i always intended to transfer. My possible new school has the same opportunites and alot more but im thinkin maybe my first school wasnt that bad.....so the main question is would u leave a school to have a better social situation if your first school was good for you academically? -i dont know where i would fit academcially at a large state university(over 20,000 people compared to a school with 4,000 people.)

would you by chance be able to tell us the two schools?

If you take a gap year from your current university, wouldn't you have to reapply (this is the general rule for universities...)? And how if you do take a gap year, and don't transfer successfully to your prospective school? It's a pretty hard choice, and personally, I think that if you were serious about transferring, you should have applied last year. But anyway, that's your choice. My only advice is, if you are sure you have more than a good chance to get into the school you want to transfer to, then do it. If you have any doubt, then don't.
