I bought the princeton review book and took a practice test. It says that on MC, 25+ = atleast 3, 35+ = atleast 4, 50+ = atleast 5. So i got 34 points on the Multiple Choice part which is probably a high 3 or a low 4. On the free response, i got 33 out of total 60 available points. It says that if you get 20 points, ure bound to get a 3. So my guess is 33 points is in the 4 range. So basically i got a 4 on that practice test. Then i got Kaplans book and took a practice test. On the multiple choice, i got a 31.75, and on the Free Response i got 35 points. The Kaplan seemed VERY hard compared to the PR, and idk how i got 35 points on the FRQ. So i am guessing in Kaplan, my score is high 3, low 4 range. So i wanted to know, which book is more accurate. Princeton review or Kaplan?

For the free response, you can just look at past free responses on the Collegeboard website.

um that wasnt really my question, my question was, Is kaplan more accurate or Princeton Review for AP chem? And is Kaplan harder than the actual thing? Or is Princeton Review easier than the real thing? Or vice versa. Also, ne one have any tips for MC? FRQ i can handle

haha @ shravas's response.

lol i know VERY HELPFUL >_> jk but seriously, can someone help.

please someone help?

i would have to say the princeton review...they seem to be more reputable and accurate. Kaplan, in my experience, is actually too basic/distorted.

too basic? Those problems were kinda hard. I noticed that their FRQ section was a bit out of order. They put their equilibrium problem as number 3. And they put problems that nobody would know. Honestly, who knows that Magnesium serves as a sacrificial electrode? And their Descriptive chem part was easy. But my god, their multiple choice section is exhausting. U know how there are always certain problems about each topic that take you 10 seconds to figure, and some that take you 5 min to figure... well all of the Kaplan MC problem are tedious. All of them force you to like draw out lewis structures, or do the molecular orbital method, etc. Er i have 1 Kaplan practice test left, and 1 Princeton review left. I am hoping to do them both tomorrow and hope to achieve a 4 at least. I am in high 3 low 4 range right now as the way things look. So yeah. You know, i have another book but i used its practice tests too. I bought Kaplan today and am gonna return it tomorrow after the 2nd practice test. :]

I would agree that PR may be a more accurate representation of your grade
