An opportunity has arisen for me to go to an environmental summit in Germany for free. This summit is 10-days long, and this seems like the perfect opportunity. Not so quite.

The thing is that it takes two weeks before my finals week. It takes place during the week of two of my AP exams. The questions is: should I go?

I would go. Germany is a place you’ll only have a few chances to ever go to, and the AP test is not all that. I believe colleges mainly just want to see you in the classes. But you could also check into AP test make ups. They do exist, but they are hard to get into.

I would go!! That’s a oncr in a lifetime op. AP tests aren’t thaaat important.

Looking at it from the perspective of a parent, I say GO!!! Really, you won’t get these opportunities very often.

Make-up APs are offered, especially if you let your counselor know in time. Definitely go-- it sounds like a fantastic opportunity.

Having been to Germany, I encourage you to go.

I’ve been on a study trip exchange type thing to Germany and it was amazing. Probably the best expirence of my entire life. It will be good enough for colleges to see that you got good grades in the AP classes and if its necessary you can write a little note explaining why you didn’t take the tests. Tons of applicants will have taken those AP tests, but most of me will not have gone to an environmental summit in Germany! And for your finals, I’m sure you’ll be fine to study in the 2 weeks after you get back.

I want to take the tests though. If I go to Germany, I will take the make-up tests (which are the same days of my finals so I will need to make up my finals…). I’m just worried that I will forget everything due to the lack of review and do poorly on my AP exams and finals.
