Tour Suggestions + Arthur Ave

Hi everyone, we are going to Fordham for an info session/tour in a week or so and I was looking for a suggestion about where to eat lunch on Arthur Avenue? I haven't been there in awhile, we will have a car if that matters. Keeping my fingers crossed that the weather is good, I have had enough of this snow.
Also, would love to hear opinions about must see's on the Fordham campus. We will be attending an info session and campus tour but often with time constraints the guide can't show everything. Any suggestions are appreciated.

My S is a junior at Fordham. As for the campus tour, we really felt that the guides did a great job at showing the campus. The Rose Hill campus is beautiful but it is also pretty compact so we felt we saw pretty much all of it. We asked a lot of questions and our guides were great. From what I remember the campus tour typically just shows one freshman room in Queens Court. Queens Court is a beautiful, but small dorm that is reserved for kids that want to be in wellness housing (My S lived there and it was great, but it isn’t for everyone). You may want to see if you can look in other freshman dorms (ex. Alumni South or Loschert (they are basically the same) and Martyrs). But you would have to get lucky and find someone willing to let you in their room. When we came back for accepted students day in the spring we were shown all the freshman dorm choices at that time so its really not that big a deal. And every tour is probably a bit different. If you don’t see something you are interested in or you want to go back and take a closer look, ask the guides how you can get to see it after the tour. We walked back to the cafeteria since it was busy during our tour and we wanted to take a better look. Don’t be shy.
In terms of restaurants, you can almost walk into any restaurant on Arthur Avenue and get very good food. I particularly like Zero Otto Nove but really they are all good. I find it is easier to walk from campus than it is to drive. Ask the guard at the gate and he/she will give you directions.
Hopefully the weather will be good!

If you take a tour, you will see all of the campus highlights. Is there anything in particular you would be hoping to see while at Rose Hill? Sometimes tour guides don’t show the visual arts studio, honors program house, or the student-run coffee house. If you are interested in any of these, just notify your guide and he/she will either include that on the tour or point you in the right direction.

Tino’s deli is a popular lunch destination. I like Dominick’s on Arthur and Tra Di Noi on 187th (Just walk down arthur and make a left onto 187th…it’ll be on the right) but I have never been to these for lunch. Full Moon and Giovanni’s are good pizzerias There’s also a great hispanic restaurant on Arthur called Estrellita Poblano III. You can’t really go wrong in Little Italy.

Ann and Tony’s on Arthur Ave! Just went there Sunday, so good. But you really can’t go wrong anywhere on Arthur Ave.

Thank you all so much for the replies. We are looking forward to our visit!
