Hello - The reason I am starting this thread is that my Asperger son is pretty bright, which was somewhat problematic when he was in elementary school since the teachers (as posted previously) could (would?) not teach him and he was extremely bored. Now that he has been placed several years advanced in math and in honors or AP in all the other courses, he is happier and has several friends who share his interests. He has perfect pitch and an accomplished violinist. He draws a lot and is an accomplished artist. His has a keen interest in politics has strong views about the government and organized religion. He attended the Johns Hopkins Center for Talented Youth and received a 34 on the ACT when he was in 6th grade. Although I dread having him leave, I am facing the inevitable.

So.. I provided that background because I'm trying to find more challenging colleges for him to visit. I've read about the "AS friendly" schools and there are a few schools listed there (i.e., CMU at the like), but overall, I'm hoping to ascertain if there are others, too. We are starting to organize some trips since I'd like to spread the visiting out over a period of 2 summers to make the transition to college real and tangible. I attended JHU as a graduate and it seems like it might be a good fit, but are there any Aspergers out there who have experience with the school? While his math is pretty strong, his true forte is English, so we are looking for an all-around school. Other colleges/universities? I think his test scores will be extremely high if not perfect while his grades might be sporadic (driven by lack of organization, motivation, etc. but trending up over time). This is another reason why I though JHU might be a choice(?) Any advice would be most appreciated.
