Never been to Gatlinburg so I can’t compare. My H’s Ohio family is divided–one group loves the place and the other group hates it. Different strokes and all that.
D & I did a trip to Asheville/Biltmore in early October, 2014. Thank goodness I had been forewarned on CC that there is a population of topless women in Asheville. Being pre-warned kept me from letting me jaw drop completely to the ground when we saw these women in the weekly drum circle downtown. Assuming this is still a thing there - anyone? It certainly didn’t spoil our delightful trip, but, without knowing ahead, I might have caught some flies in my mouth!
I don’t think that is much of a thing anymore.

Replying to myself – the topless women thing was part of a rally for equal rights for all genders to be topless if they want, but I haven’t heard anything about it in recent years since pre-COVID.

Oh my gosh I had almost forgotten about the Flying W Ranch! My family went there on our vacation to Colorado probably 50 years ago! I had no idea it was in Colorado Springs! Thanks for that memory!!
