How many of you guys totally changed around your lists after visiting the schools?...Just wondering if lots of people had "a feeling" about a certain school.

My list was totally turned around after my visits! (I won't indicate how, as I am not revealing my favorites on this site for fear that an admissions officer will recognize me and realize that their school is not my favorite.)

I changed 4 of the 7 schools. You know almost nothing until you tour... I'm not exaggerating at all.

i took away two schools, fell in love with two, added a school, and changed my mind about every single one i toured ;)

yeah you really don't know until the tour. even if you're dead set on some school, you really have to visit. while it isn't EVERYTHING, you need that "feel" where when you set foot on campus you're like holy crap I HAVE TO GO HERE.

You have to be able to imagine yourself LIVING there. Some kids are more sensitive to their environment than others. I worry that SPS school would almost be TOO beautiful for my son! I can see him just daydreaming by one of the lakes when he's supposed to be studying!

He definately had "gut reactions" to some schools. Don't discount you gut.

I recieved a near full scholarship to one of the colleges I had applied to and the minute that I visited the campus, I was sure that I didn't want to spend 4 years there...so yes, it's extremely important. Remember, it's four year. Your environment and how happy you are can affect how well you do.

The gut feeling you get from a visit is part of fit. While dismissed by some on this board, fit is very important.

I thought that it would be fun to know who else is applying from the same state as you.
Sooooooooo, put ur name below the state you are applying from with your school name :D

If theres anyway you can get a tour go to it...if not then go to re-visit, you HAVE to get a tour to know.
