towel, laundry, and bathroom

<p>I'm a girl and I'm going to a college with communal bathrooms. I'm still not sure about some things so here are some questions:</p>

<p>1) how many towels should I bring and how many times should I use it before washing it?</p>

<p>2) I have some clothes and bras that cant be dried using the drier. does anyone dry their bras in the dorm? is this weird?</p>

<p>3) where do you put your towel and shower stuff when you are taking shower? it's communal bathroom so I'll have to carry the dirty clothes back to my room after shower which is kinda annoying and inconvenient. I was thinking of just wrap myself naked with a towel and go to the shower. do people do this?</p>

<li><p>There’s usually a 2-part deal. The outside partition has a towel bar, hooks, and a shelf/seat. I don’t know of anyone who doesn’t use a robe going to and from the shower.</p></li>

<p>My roomie had seven, and she used a new one every single day. </p>

<p>But, no, seriously, you really only need two: one to use and one for backup. If you like swimming, add a third for the pool. Wash the dirtiest towel at the end of each week :)</p>

<p>Well, most people I know weren’t weirded out by it. If they are, hang them someplace that isn’t obvious.</p>

<p>Shower stuff goes into shower caddy. Dirty clothing wrapped in towel and carried that way.</p>

<p>I brought four towels, because I use one towel for my hair and one for my bod. I would wash and switch them out every few days.</p>

<p>I hardly use the dryer for anything, I hang a lot of my clothing to dry, including bra’s, not weird at all.</p>

<p>I take my clothes off in my room, wrap my towel around me and go to the bathroom, most girls who lived on my floor did this.</p>

<p>I brought 3 towels and alternated them.
I put t shirts, shorts, underwear and jeans in the dryer. I had several hand-wash items and I hung those up in my closet.
I went to the bathroom in a towel with a change of clothes. Most people went to the shower in their towel.</p>

I bought a fold-up drying rack for clothes that can’t go in the dryer. You can get one at Target for about $15. I actually wish they made a smaller one than the one I found, but it seems that they don’t. It can fold up and go under the bed or in the closet when it’s not being used. I’m going to use that for most stuff. If you and your roommate are comfortable having bras on that and drying them in your room, you could do that. Otherwise, that’s a good thing to have for other clothes that can’t go in the dryer. I have several hand-wash only items that shouldn’t go in the dryer.</p>

<p>1) I bring 4 towels, and use them 2 or 3 times. It’s not a problem at all, just get a foldable laundry rack or hooks to dry them on. </p>

<p>2) Those foldable laundry racks work well. Frankly, nobody’s probably going to care (they know what bras look like!) but if you just don’t want people looking at yours, just drape them over a hanger and put them in your closet to dry. </p>

<p>3) I usually just wear my towel to the bathroom, and they had hooks inside the shower stalls. I’d definitely suggest buying a small shower caddy to stick your shampoo/body wash in. Pretty much everyone I know does this-- honestly, if you buy the very large type of towels, it’s as much coverage as a bathrobe.</p>

<p>1) I use a new towel after every shower. I don’t like to reuse them. I’m taking 7 to school, one for each day.</p>

<p>2) No bra should ever be put into a dryer, so if the other people think it’s weird that you’re hang drying them, they’re doing it wrong.</p>

Being a dude…had to google why. Makes sense…heat destroys the elasticity. Had that happen to something stretchy in my apartment that I left over the summer (apt. got up to 100 degrees inside).</p>

<p>^And it makes the underwires snap, which hurts if you’re wearing them…</p>
