Need new towels in master bath-looking for thick, fluffy and colorful!
Our master bathroom towels are from Lands End. They are very thick, and come in a lot of colors. Not quite as fluffy a year after purchasing, but I would still describe as fluffy.
I was in Nordstrom the other day, and they had some towels that felt really nice. Someone told me how much they loved them, and I almost bought them, even though I’m trying to get rid of things.
Frontgate Resort Collection towels are amazing and have free monogramming. They are running a white sale right now. I bought several last year and one year later they are as good as new.
I like Marks & Spencer towels; I discovered them when I was living in Asia. They last for years and are really good quality. Oftentimes, they ship free to USA. The bath sheets are a real find; they are huuuuuuuge!
Another vote for Company Store. I discovered them when I was pregnant with my first and heard about their crib sheets fitting better and having a less chance of pulling free from the corners (sheets being longer than off-the-shelf). And, Company store was also my go to for college DORM sheets a couple years ago. I didn’t buy the towels there, opting for moisture wicking thin towels instead. But I bet their towels are fab.
I bought sone at Costco and some at Kohl’s. So far, am happy with all of them. The Kohl’s are supposed to be quick drying. We’ve only had the towels for a few weeks, but I have a few older towels from Costco we still like very much—fluffy and thick and soft.
Ralph Lauren towels from TJ Maxx. Best towels I have ever owned and very inexpensive.
Not sure of your budget but the Nate Burkas line of towels at Target are wonderful.
I got a tip from a towel “expert” at Bloomingdale’s - never wash towels or sheets in “harsh” detergents. She said to use something organic like 7th generation, in cold water, on a medium cycle (never “sheets and towels”. She also said to tumble dry warm and to never bleach. Since we started that with our new towels, they are totally awesome and as soft as the day they were purchased.
And no fabric softerner when washing towels.
I second the Frontgate resort collection. They are expensive, but we’ve had ours for 3+ years (each family members has 2 color coded towels each, so they get washed a lot) and they are still as soft and fluffy as the day we got them.
Frontgate beach and bath towels are wonderful. A bit expensive, but they wear very well.
I bought towels from Costco to send to college, and have been impressed at how they have fared. Brand is Charisma. Bath towels are much better than the hand towels.
This will make you all chuckle. In 1995, I bought four sets of Egyptian cotton, made in the USA towels at…Walmart. The no longer carry these…but they continue to be terrific towels with barely any sign of wear.
And they were really not costly…at all. They are 24 years old.
I just this week looked at some very nice towels at Big Lots…also made in the USA. I think I’m going to get a couple of sets of them.
@thumper1 HAHA! I clicked on this thread because I thought “Gee, our towels were wedding gifts (so about 24 years old), maybe I should get some new ones!”. Unfortunately the tags have come off and I don’t know what brand they are. Too bad because they have lasted beautifully.
I recently bought towels at Target that are really nice- wash and dry well, thick and absorbent. The nudge we needed was houseguests. Our prior towels are 20-30 years old, mismatched, even some hand me downs from H’s mom when we got married- those are in the 35 year range. Purged some and kept some for backups.
I bought some at Costco a couple of weeks ago that was very non-absorbent. Don’t know how to describe it, but it was as if the towel was waterproof smh. Wiping my skin did almost nothing.
@ProfessorPlum168 —that’s really odd. The ones I’ve purchased from Costco are all great, including the Luxe ones I just bought weeks ago. They’re soft and absorbent and were on sale for $5-6 apiece, IIRC. My picky kids like them.
Ditto here. Our Costco Charisma towels are thick and plush. Did you wash them with fabric softener or dried with a dryer sheet? That would make a towel non-absorbent.
I had to laugh when reading a suggestion about saving money somewhere, when it said something like if you replace your towels every year, wait for two or three. I have since bought new ones, but still have my wedding shower towels, although not ones we use every day any more.
I use my regular detergent but no fabric softener and towels and my department store on sale towels are still fluffy and absorbent.
