I'm a transfer student starting at UCF in the fall. I'm planning to live in one of the Towers, and I have lots of questions!

Does it make a difference which Tower I choose? Where is each one located? I've heard the third tower is reserved for honor students and the fourth is closest to everything, but I don't know if either of those things are true.

I can afford either a 4/2 or 4/4, but I'm not sure which will be better for me. I've also heard freshmen are mostly in 4/2's, is there any truth to that? I don't mind having a roommate or two that are younger than me (I'm 21), but it would also be nice to share an apartment with student(s) my own age! I don't think I'd prefer staying in a dorm where I'd be the only upperclassmen. What are my odds as far as getting assigned with freshmen/upperclassmen? Are any towers/floors reserved for freshmen/upperclassmen or anything?

Any other information you could tell me about the Towers would be great! I'm really excited to move in and just want to know everything about them. Any other advice about what I should bring, what to expect, how to get involved on campus and make friends, etc.?

Thanks :)

4/2 isn’t bad neither is rooming with freshman. Roomed with them last year even though I was older then them. Didn’t mind. tower 4 is where all the athletes stay, 3 is for honor kids. Tower 1 and 2 are the best.

Thanks for the info!

I’m currently living at the towers(II) and my contract ends Aug 3rd, and if you say u can afford the 4/4 plan I’d deff recommend taking it. You never know who you’re gonna get! If I could go back, I would have picked a 4/4 for sure. HAVING MY OWN BATHROOM WOULD HAVE BEEN GREAT. When I started I was 23, now 24, and two roommates were 18 and one 21. So, the fact that you’re 21 doesn’t guarantee you’ll get roommates in their 20’s.
The towers are deff way to expensive for what you really get.
The only pros I can think of is the proximity, high speed internet(no wifi ,btw), and since it’s and on campus housing, you don’t have to deal with loud parties like you’d have to deal in off campus housing.

As for making friends , you have a bunch of clubs to be part of and meet new people.

Why doesn’t anyone ever post or ask about the Apollo dorms? They are the cheapest available, and they seem relatively decent by the pictures. Any comments about them?

Apollo is freshman only unless you are an RA.

I know, but don’t most people move to off-campus housing after freshman year? It just seems a lot cheaper in the long run…or even the short run.

I wouldn’t be living on campus if I didn’t have Florida Pre-Paid - I have two years of housing already paid for, so that’s why I’m choosing it. If I didn’t then I would have to look into other housing options. Plus, I just feel like it would be better to live on campus and have roommates, I want to meet people and be involved!

There are plenty of 20’somethin at the towers. Apollo Libra Hercules and w/e dorms there are deff have more for freshmen.
