I was just wondering if a townhouse or a single is better?

I'm in a situation where I have 3-4 friends going to Cornell (1 friend is still deciding if he wants to go to Cornell). We were wondering if we did request a single, and filled out the same answers for the questions on the housing form, wat r the chances that we will be in the same building? hall?

Also, can u guys please list out wat r the advantages/disadvantages of getting a single/townhouse......and if u were in my position (with 3 friends going to Cornell), would u get a townhouse?

If there are 4 of you, you should definitely get a townhouse. The chances of all of your getting singles close to each other would be VERY slim (filling out the same answers on the room preferences sheet wouldn't guarantee much at all), whereas a townhouse where all four residents are already friends is pretty much ideal.

honestly, if i were you, i wouldn't room w/ my friends that i already know. you're gonna meet tons of ppl there and everybody's gonna meet everyone. but if you stick w/ ppl you already know, where's the experience? just my thoughts.
but if you're sure about living w/ your friends, i agree w/ ceramo, go for a townhouse~

you prob will get singles, but not close to eachother. If i were going to room with anyone I would only do it with people i know, most kids i know got roommates that are really different from them. if i had a group of 3 other friends i would get a townhouse.. you have so much extra space and freedom.. little RA worries, a living room, and if you want to party you have a good place to invite people to pregame. one of my good friends did the townhouse with his friends and it has worked well for them, you just need to make sure you go out and make an effort to meet people.

i have a single, it is really nice for getting work done and personal space, and you meet a ton of people in your dorm.
