Toyota Scholars - 2006 to 2008

so, if you did not receive a package, does that mean you don't get it? does toyota still send out letters saying you didn't get in?

I believe they have sent such "rejection" letters in past years, so I expect them to continue them this year probably within a week or two...

Congrats to all who received the scholarship!

i called the Toyota Scholarship people last saturday but they didn't answer.

They left me a voice mail this morning saying that they are still in the process of giving the scholarships. They should be done by the end of April/early May. They told me that if I still don't hear from them by that time to give them a call again.

So, maybe all hope isn't lost to those who haven't received their packet?

Cris,

Did they say if you would be notified if you DON'T receive one? So, if we haven't heard yet, it could still come up until the end of April? Interesting.

Bumping this to see if anyone else has heard back from Toyota this week.

My Papers got mixed up...can anyone help me out...

The Photo + Ind. Release Packet go into the envelope to Kathy Mota correct?
And the Scholarship Reply Form goes in the envelope to the scholarship and recognition Programs correct?

Thanks!

GujuGeek, if memory serves, you are correct. Congratulations to all!

i guess they tried delivering a package for me today but i wasnt home. so they're gonna come back tomorrow.

maybe its toyota? =] (crossing my fingers)

Is it just me, or did Toyota cancel their scholarship program for 2008? None of the links posted have worked.

The Toyota website was never a great place to get info. It's all about those applications going to the schools, etc. If I remember correctly - that application doesn't go until Christmas or even later. I do remember that it is March or April until you hear something and the event is in May (I think).

My school received the Toyota Scholarship form on the 9th of December.

The rubric looks so much like Coca-Cola... and that's discouraging.

I am really confused about toyota scholars. so the only way to apply is to request the application from my counselor? and there is only 1 nomination/applicant per school?? My teachers didn't say anything about it

@jenkster: another similarity to the Coca-Cola scholarship is that (according to the app/nom form) they also select semifinalists statistically based on the boxes you fill in

@google2008: yes, there is only 1 nominated person per school (unless your graduating class is 600+), and your counselor should have the form . . . my teachers didnt either, nor did the useless lady who is supposed to help us get into and pay for college . . . but you should go to your counselor and ask soon if you're going to, because the nomination forms have to be postmarked by like Jan. 4 or something.

my best friend got the nom from my school, so i hope she gets it along with you all. good luck guys!

Aww, UNEPgirl, that does not bode well! Maybe I can learn some packaging lessons from Coca-Cola though...

yeaa....that's the problem...we are kind of on break now....so not sure how to work around the jan 4

so is only teh nomination form due jan 4? adn the application is separate/later?

postmarked by 4th.

does matter lol, I doubt my counselor will go to school on the 4th to do this for me

but my question is: the nomination form, does it include essays? any efforts on my part?

no essays on nomination form. form is straightforward just like the coca-cola scholarship form.

any chance I can turn it in after break? :P
