Would anybody with good knowledge of/experience with distance running recruiting want to share some advice via PM's?

1) Your time(s) 800-16-32-5k?
2) Look at the roster of the colleges you are interested in…search on Milesplit.us and compare the athlete’s times (when in HS) to your own. Also look at times from the college’s Conference/League meet.
3) E-mail the respective coach with grades, school info, and PRs. Also fill out Questionnaire.
4) Wait for response (if none- keep e-mailing, but do not ‘harass’)
5) Update coaches on new PRs

One school that DS e-mailed didn’t get back to him, but he thought it would be a good fit based on his times and grades. He had been e-mailing the recruiting coach, but then he sent an e-mail to the head coach, and that did the trick. The head coach invited him for an official visit. So don’t give up if you really think it might be the right place for you.
