Track & Field thread!

Track season just started guys! I'm pumped haha and I need to take a break from only talking academics :P how many of you are I'm track? If so, what event? I myself am a pole vaulter (x

I run the 400!! I want to do the 400/800 but it’s a bit of a problem because one is sprinting and one is distance. :frowning: haha

I run the 1600m and 800m. Never been to state for track, and I dunno if I’ll make it this year just by the way things are going.

I run 400 hurdles. Qualified for CACs :). I also do long jump and occasionally sprinting. Might do 100 hurdles at the next meet, who knows?

So far, I have ran 1600m and 800m this season. However, last season, I used to run 1600m and 3200m.

Practice has been intense this year. I have lost 10 pounds since track started. I have also been fasting for three weeks so that may contribute to the weight loss as well.

I think I might want to join track next year…what different types of runs/“events” are there to do?

I’m racing the 1600 and 3200!

The 100m hurdles (also known as the only race that matters) is my race

^haha almost there, that’s my favorite too. I don’t have time for track & field anymore, but I used to be really good at high jumps and hurdles (100m and 400m).

I’m pretty versatile in my events, my coaches mostly decide what I’m going to run depending on the matchup.

So far this year I’ve ran the 800 and 1600, and I also run on our 4x400 relay team.
I hope they don’t throw me in at 3200, I’m sure I could handle it because I’m a good XC runner but I’ve grown to enjoy the shorter races.

I run the 1600 and 3200. What are y’all’s times? I run a 5:15 and a 12:00 respectively.

4:30 and 9:58 in my prime

then I got senioritis

This spring is my first track season (junior) and so far I’ve only ran one 800 and one 1600 (well technically our event is 1 mile, not sure how much the difference is). So I guess these are my “best” times, but I think I can improve on them as the season goes on.

Mile: 4:52
800: 2:06.8

Ran a 4:49 in my first 1600 of the season. Unfortunately our team lost :frowning: Hoping to repeat as league champions. I’ll probably be running the 800m mostly, which is brutal, ahh

2:08 800 time and 57 seconds for my 400 time

All these middistance runners! I’m a sprinter, never have to do more than a 400m. Mainly run the 100m, 200m and sometimes the 4x400m!
My fastest for the 100m was 12.9s… (I’m a girl)

12.7 100m
26.3 200m
43.2 300m
60.2 400m
I’m a girl obviously lol

PR’d yesterday in my 1600! 5:05. I’m a girl too haha

Bump!

How did your seasons go? Personal improvements?

This was my first season (junior), here’s my improvements:

800m: 2:07 to 2:00
Mile: 4:59 to 4:38

Anyone running XC in the fall?

Bringing this old thread back to life! I’m running xc this fall! anyone else?
