What times would you have to run in the 800m and 1600m to get looked at for a scholarship? My grades are good and my current PR is a 4:35 mile and 2:02 800. That was as a sophomore currently making big strives in CC down to a 16:35 5k, want to run a 4:25 mile and 1:57 800 as a junior.

Wait a second… Are you me? Bump for an answer, basically the same times and hopes.

You’d need to talk to the coach.

I tried emailing him but no response, what should I do?

Are you interested in track or cross country? You know, VU has only a women’s track team–it does have men’s cross country as well as a women’s cc team. In fact the women are defending SEC champs–don’t think the men are as competitive.

According to this little article in the online Commodore Nation Magazine posted Oct. 22, the men’s cross country team is the only non-scholarship sport at Vanderbilt.

So disregard the info on collegeboard.org that says otherwise. This might also explain why the coach is not returning inquiries about scholarships ;-)

Wow, that stinks lol. Do they still recruit? Could I still improve my chances of admission even though I won’t get money for it? I want to go to Vandy regardless if I get a running scholarship or not!
