I heard that some colleges track applicants' emails and phone calls. But how do they do that? Will they take out all the e-mails you have sent when they make a decision? So is it bad if I send them asking a lot of silly questions?
Thx!!!!!!!!!!!

They may not officially track them electronically, but if you are sending lots of individual questions to admissions, they will likely catch on that you have called before. At many schools, admissions counselors are assigned to zones, like NY, New England, Texas, California, Midwest, international, etc. Your counselor would get all mail from you directly to him/her, and after a few emails your counselor would catch on that you’ve asked a few questions. Hopefully you’ve always been professional and polite!

If you wish to remain anonymous, call instead of email.

^
Yeah, unless your issue is specific enough to require that you identify yourself, it’s probably not going to be in your file if you call.

However, emails may be included in your file if deemed relevant. The most common case is probably if you send supplemental information or correct a portion of your application via email. Other emails that are notable may also be included, and the likelihood surely increases if you’re pestering them.

Edit: It’s worth noting that this may also be a factor in demonstrated interest. Just don’t go overboard and waste their time, and never ask a question in an email that can be readily answered by checking the website.

Thank you!!!I just hope that they will not track every email that I have sent. =)
