Does anyone know how a candidate tracks a Groton School application once it is submitted? I know you can get some of the information on Gateway, but D didn't use Gateway for recs, transcripts, etc. I know SPS provides applicants with a password/login to track applications. Does anyone know if Groton does the same? If so, when would such info generally be provided? If not, what is the most appropriate way for family to ensure that application is complete? Is calling Admissions Office too forward?

Don’t call them this week! If a school accepts materials through the mail, the office could well be opening envelopes and filing for days or weeks. I wouldn’t call it forward to call the office, but at this point, they might not be able to answer the question, and trying to answer the question would slow down everything.

You should receive an email to confirm your daughter’s application is complete. Some schools send emails, some send postcards. (I suppose as things become more automated, emails will become the rule.) At any rate, she will get confirmations from all her schools.

Some schools send log-in information for a dedicated applicant portal. At that point, she can check on the status of her applications online. (Write down any passwords.)

There’s no need to call admissions departments at this point. If she hasn’t received confirmation postcards or emails by the end of the month, you might consider sending an email to the school. If she receives access to the applicant’s portal, I would recommend asking teachers to send duplicate recommendations, if everything else is completed, but the recommendations are missing by the end of the month.

Got it! Thanks-- we will sit tight
That said, does anyone know how Groton informas you of decision? Is it snail mail? Email? Are families given access to an applicant portal?

But keep in mind that the timing of notifications may be different this year since March 10 falls on a Saturday and not a weekday.

Aw, man. I was looking forward to setting up the tent in my yard and waiting for the UPS man in my pajamas too! ;)

@CherryRose - mail still comes on saturdays…

no notification of any kind from Groton yet.

@Ehphant: True. I’ve heard lots of rumors of emailed decisions though. However it comes… the tent will be out on the night of M9! :D

Does Groton send notification of your status of application (document Received/complete etc)?

My son received an e-mail stating that his application was complete.

We also just received an email today saying the file was complete and that a username/password would be coming (didn’t say when) to check online for decision letters

Still no notification from Groton yet. Hesitant to contact them during the busy time.

Anyone received the login information from Groton?

Like other posts, we received email saying that log-in info would be forthcoming, but nothing yet.

Anyone received the login information from Groton yet?

I don’t have my login yet.
Does anybody besides the last poster have it?

My son received his.
