Is it true that you can switch colleges at UCSD if you find someone that wants to trade spots in their college???

I was admitted to Eleanor Roosevelt in Biochemistry and Cell Bio but i REALLLLLLLY do not want to be in this college!!! If it's true...does someone in Warren or Miur or even Sixth wanna trade??? Ugh..i don't want to have to take extra GE classes after transfering that are definitely not needed for my major.

I'm in the same situation--I do not particularly want to go to Revelle as a Political Science major. I have been told by UCSD that a student must spend 2 quarters in their college before being able to apply for inter-college transfer, and am unaware how the "trade spots" method you mentioned works.

"I have been told by UCSD that a student must spend 2 quarters in their college before being able to apply for inter-college transfer"
Pretty much defeats the purpose right?

Q: Can I change the college I was admitted to?
A: No. Each college has a certain number of spaces for transfer students. Unlike most universities, your college is not determined by your major. This gives you a unique opportunity to meet a wider range of people. We have observed that once you arrive on campus, you are likely to adapt quickly and be very happy with your undergraduate college. The only way for you to switch to another college is if a transfer student from that college wants to change to the one you were admitted to, so very few college changes are granted each year. If you indeed wish to change colleges, pick up an Intercollege Transfer Request form at the Academic Advising Office of the college to which you were admitted. Your college will then follow up with you as to the results of your request.
