Just learned that a mom & dad in our community, the wife teaches art in the same district where the family of four lives,..well both parents were killed last night in a car accident going to pick up their 12th grade daughter at Penn State where she was accepted into the Shreyers Honons College. (As an aside the stats and competetiveness for Shreyers rivals the best of the IVYs)There is a 14 yr old in the household as well. So for all us parenst on this board boo hooing about waitlists and measly aid---let this sink in and give us all a little perspective on what really matters.

That is so very sad. It does put many of our problems into perspective. I feel so sorry for those children.

That is horrible. We always think of the kids being at risk out driving. :(

This is really very sad news, and surely puts all of our issues a different light. I will keep this family in my prayers.

It's heartbreaking. Poor, poor kids.

How tragic. This should rightly shake and scare all of us, and I agree, should help to keep priorities in perspective.
