Tranfer from UC Davis to UC Berkeley?

I was wondering if it is possible to transfer from UCD to the Haas school of business for my junior and senior years?

get a 4.0 and take all the prereq’s and you have a small chance.

It is very unlikely. If you don’t have a 4.0, you probably do not have a chance. I don’t mean to discourage you, and I like your ambition, but Haas has like a 7% acceptance rate. Your record, essays, EC’s, and pretty much everything has to be peerless. Good luck.

If you apply to Econ, you’ll have a better shot of getting in.

for 2008 only 2 people out of the 402 NON community college transfers were accepted to Haas.
look here if you want to see the proof:

Everyone knows those numbers are misleading. Most people who apply don’t complete the pre-requisites which equals automatic rejection.

If you complete all the pre-reqs AND get a 3.8+ AND have some strong extracurricular tied to business, your chances are pretty good. Definitely better than this 7% bs going around :)

^ Of course the 7% rate might be misleading, but the mere fact that only 2 non-CC students got in isn’t just a misleading admission %. I’d say 4.0, all pre reqs + more advanced classes, VERY strong EC’s, and your uncle is Warren Buffet. I have a friend who has a 3.9 at USC (yes it’s non- CC or UC), internships at Wachovia and Merrill Lynch, started 2 profit-driven websites/companies, and he didn’t get in (all pre-reqs completed). I’m not saying that it’s impossible because you never know if you don’t try, but sometimes it’s good to have a realistic approach.

what about for like engineering (MechE)? would the acceptance rate for UC to UC be that low too? And I heard if you have a good enough reason (in your essay) (+good gpa and pre reqs completion) then you can get in right? i know a lot of people transfering from UCSD to UCB but like I dont know what their actual situations are

^Haas is extremely competitive and is in a league of its own. Transferring to Berkeley Engineering is not nearly as hard, but is no cakewalk either. As long as your GPA is at or above the average admit GPA for your major and you complete most/all of the prerequisites, you have as good of a chance as any.
