I am currently taking classes at Houston Community College and have applied for transfer admission to Texas A&M and University of Texas at Austin.
My current GPA is 3.657 and my major is electrical engineering.
I have completed 35 credit hours and am currently enrolled in 15 more.
I have A's in all my classes except a D in English 1.
what are my chances of getting admission in the universities mentioned above, and how long it takes for the university to make the decision.

Anyone please post some comments. I am really nervous about the admissions

Make sure you have done all the pre recs for your major and college of choice at AM. Generally a 3.5 is good enough for UT so a 3.657 should be good enough for AM. Good luck!

thanks for your advice!!!

My major is Electrical Engineering, and I haven’t completed all the prerequisites. By the end of this semester I would still have Phys 2 and CHEM 2 left to do in Spring 2012. Will Texas A&M consider my fall grades and offer me admission.

I was a transfer student to A&M this semester, and I got in with a 3.56 GPA and 2 req letters.

To up your chances at admissions, finish your Calculus sequence, Cal based Phys 1&2, and finish your Chem.
Good luck!!!

My major is Computer Engineering - Electrical Track btw

By the time you applied for admissions did you complete all the prerequisites or were you still working on some requisites. If yes, what were the prerequisites that you couldn’t send the grades for?

Hi,

I have a question! I was just accepted to A&M’s Natural Renewable Resources program as a transfer, and want to know about life at TAMU. Is it really that conservative? I’m not a raging liberal but I’m not a conservative by any means… any insight to student life on campus would be hugely appreciated. Must make a decision soon!

i applied to tamu with 3.59 in for fall on jan 9. they denied. i applied for petr engr first choice n industrial engr second choice. thing is, i didn’t have chem 2 completed but had everything else on degree track. maybe thats why they denied. i’m still very anxious about what lies ahead. i’m still waiting on UT though. dunno what’ll happen there.

Hi I wanted to know if a 3.5 or a 3.4 is good enough to transfer to TX A&M or UT Austin. I’m applying to either the business program or the engineering program and if not would U of Houston , TX San Antonio or Baylor be better?
