How is transferring in winter different from transferring in fall?

My major is mechanical engineering, i applied to UCLA and UCI. Frankly i dont come across many people who transfer in winter. Am i of a disadvantage as they accept less number of students in winter? UCLA does not reveal how many students they accept in winter. And is it the same as transferring in fall after u get in-- would there be any difficulties meshing with the system at the university?

They only have winter admission if they have room, so I wouldn't think you have any disadvantage if you qualify. Only problem I can see for winter transfer on campus housing and everything is going to be rushed since you start almost 2 months after you get admitted. You might have meshing with people since people already made friends in the fall quarter. I applied for winter, I had no other classes I could take in winter and spring at CC. Also I would get head start and by taking summer classes I should be able to catch up to fall admits.
