How hard is it to transfer into Wellesley? Is it more competitive than applying as a freshman?

From purely a numbers standpoint, it does seem to statistically be more competitive than applying as a first year. According to the 07-08 Common Data Set (http://www.wellesley.edu/InstResearch/Common%20Data%20Set%202007.pdf), in Fall 2007, 212 transfer applicants applied and 32 were admitted for an admit rate of just over 15%. This is compared to the first year admit rate which has been around 34-35% for the past few years.

Wow! I thought the percentage would be a bit higher than that. Thanks for replying =] the article helped me realize I have to work a bit harder.

I just realized I spelled transferring "tranferring" no wonder no one wanted to reply. haha

I have a good friend who transferred into Wellesley. She came from a state school and had a near-perfect GPA (I think like 3.95) and 2250 on her SATs. I have no idea if she is typical or not. I think sometimes transferring doesn't take into account your SAT score as much as first-year admissions does because you've already been in college.
