I'd love to work in transactional services. Pay's incredibly good, and it's kinda interesting.

They're really hard. Yes.

I don't know. They pay around $100k in ibanking. Hours: think 3 digits. Travel: think 30000 miles per year.

Mostly CorpFin (transactional services) are in New York, Chicago, Boston and LA/SF. But you might be able to find small offices in DC or Philly or something though.

They pay 100K for what level? New hires? Seniors?

Do people usually stick around in that devision? Or do they bolt (I guess for MBA if thats an option??) after they make senior like tax/audit???

The 100k figure includes bonuses. It's like ~$60k salary+~$10k signon bonus+~$30k bonus. The year after that, you can expect salary to go up a bit (maybe by ~$5k) and match salary for bonus. No signon the year after the first.

But then again, that's usually for ibanking analysts at Bulge Bracket (MorganStanley, Merrill Lynch, Goldman Sachs, First Boston, etc)
