So, my dad came up to me an hour ago begging me to apply to UPenn. I love UPenn, don't get me wrong, but I thought it was too much of a reach. Well anyway, he basically forced me , and I sent everything in. There's just one problem...I requested my transcript be sent today and I highly doubt UPenn will get my teanscript until tomorrow or monday because my counselor will probably see the request tomorrow. Should I be really worried? Should I call UPenn and apologize? It's basically my fault and I feel so badly =// Any advice?

Your transcript should be sent in with your secondary school report on the CommonApp?

I don’t think it even matters as long as you have submitted your application and supplement, they take like a month or two just to sort everything so even if they get it a few days late, its all good, but you might still want to call and make sure.

I never heard of a parent “force” a child to apply to a school. There seems to be a bigger family issue here than choice of applications. Also, did you have a Why Penn essay just gathering dust at your house in case your parent forced you to apply. Seriously, how did the essay get done in the last few hours or am I missing something.

I have a similar problem. My transcripts are due today, but post offices were closed yesterday and today, and will not be open tomorrow either. So I won’t be mailing mine until Monday. I’ve heard that there’s usually a 3-4 day period where you can still submit things after the application deadline without being looked “down upon,” so hopefully we will be fine. If not, then there’s nothing we can do about it anyway, so I wouldn’t stress about it (:

On UPenn’s tracking site, it says that school reports and transcripts can be accepted late with no adverse effects. You’re fine.

like i said pennforme, i really liked penn sp the app was done a while ago. i save everything i write. i actually still have a few unused essays. and yes, i do have a lot of family issues i just didnt indulge because it’s not something I’m willing to share. So thanks for that.

Thanks everyone else…turn out my counselor sent it late last night anyway =)

Thanks for writing back. I give you a lot of credit for having written essays for schools that you did not end up using. You must be very motivated and not a procrastinater at all. I did not try to be funny about the family issues. I hope they get resolved and you end up happy and at the school of your choice.

Again, sorry for being a little harsh.

It’s alright, I understand. I was being harsh, too. Thanks though =)
