My school's transcript design looks terrible. It is hard to read and makes us look stupid. Do you think that schools like Harvard would appreciate a better designed unofficial one (with the same info) in addition to the official one? I want to send one in that emphasizes my rising grades.

Of all the things to worry about, this is NOT one of them.
For the record, my high school had a pretty messed up transcript...
very hard to read, completely mis-aligned columns... I still got into 7 out of 8 schools, including Harvard, Stanford, & MIT... they didn't hold "transcript design" against me.

Well, I have a rising GPA, I've taken the hardest courseload in my school, and took a lot of classes a year early (like at my school people take ap bio as a junior, I took it as a sophmore. I also took classes like Econ early)

If you look at my transcipt the first bunch of classes are regulars (they are required) and all the science classes ive taken gets crunched into a small space. Also, i got almost all B's in the first 3 semesters of school. I got better and got straight A's for the rest of the time, but if you look at my transcript, it looks like i got too many b's (which I did) and it doesnt stress the rising componant.

I don't think they would want another unofficial version. It just adds paper to the file and it's information that they already have, and they have to deal with so many different types of transcripts already that I'm sure that they can interpret it perfectly fine. I don't think they would look favorably on you for sending the same thing twice.

You could talk to administrators or whatever at your school and discuss developing a new design for next year, but in the meantime, sit back and don't send in an unofficial one.

Oh well, maybe I'll talk to my GC and see what happens. It's not that Bad i suppose, in that it gets all the info there, but it kind of makes me look bad. I suppose thats my fault more than the transcript's though. Thanks for all of your help.

Yay, there is hope for me...
(explained: I had a B+ average for the first 3 semesters)

Yeah, but I havn't gotten in...

(I'm just a junior)

Yes, I know that, but it makes me happy to see that someone in my position has at least applied, haha. Good luck! What day do you find out again?

Colleges are used to receiving transcripts in every possible format. Give Harvard adcoms some credit for knowing how to extract any data needed.

The design of your hs transcript doesn't make you look nearly as bad as you wasting bandwidth to generate this particular thread !!!
