I am a HS student and took world language from Community College and received a grade of “C”. Do you know if this will be consider like a AP/ Honor class and will be equivalent to an “B” at HS?
Also, if I plan to take another class for a different subject at the same community college then will my grades for world language be there too??
Weighting the CC course will depend upon the colleges you end up applying since they will determine if it is considered an Honors course. It will still be a C on the transcript. If you take another course at the same CC, yes your World Language course grade along with the other course grade will be on the same transcript.
Was it dual enrollment affiliated with your HS? If so, it is on your high school transcript. Your HS should tell you if it’s weighted or not. Your CC grades, DE or taken on your own, go to all colleges you attend (and to grad school too). Unfortunately the C stays with you. Another poster called it “the double edged sword of DE”.
Each school is different, but DD’s school doesn’t weigh DE classes (except multivariable calculus). The grade she actually earned will show on her college transcript. The HS teacher curved the final in the class she took over the summer, but that curve only helped their HS grade (she got an A, but he curved it for others, so in those cases, they now have a lower grade on their college transcript than what’s on their HS transcripts), The same teacher is not curving the final for the DE class she is taking now, proving it can vary even within the same school.
