Do I need to ask my dual-enrollment community college to submit any kind of a transcript to my early decision college choice (Brown University)? There are only semester grades, and this is my first year at the college, so I don't have any official grades yet.

If you have no official grades then there won’t be anything to send; you can, however, indicate your dual-enrollment courses in the Common App field for the courses you are taking this year.

That’s what I did, @wchuck. Do you think I should list my current dual-enrollment grades in the additional information section, or is that unnecessary?

For some reason, I thought Brown required transcripts from all colleges attended. I can’t remember if I read it on Brown’s page or another college’s. I think you should submit it. I submitted my transcript. Even if they don’t require it, it’s better to be safe than sorry. I don’t think this really falls into the “the thicker the file, the thicker the student” category, so I don’t see how it could hurt to submit it.

You have to still send the transcript, it should list the courses in progress. You need to send transcripts from all institutions you are currently attending or have in the past.

Yikes, @guineagirl96 @430ktk. Do either of you have any idea how I might go about this? Do I just contact the community college and ask them to mail a transcript to Brown, or is there some way to do this in the Common Application?

Note: community college classes will appear as dual-enrollment classes on the transcript provided by my umbrella school, if that means anything.

I would contact the college directly, different colleges have different systems. If they are on your HS transcript, it may not be as big a deal, but you should contact the CC to see if they have any insight. I don’t believe there is a way to request and send in these kinds of transcripts through common app.

There’s no way to do this through Common App. I just gave my school a transcript request.
