My high school asks that we ask for transcript/recommendation stuff 1 month before deadline. (so nov 1st deadline = October ask). Can they send in their stuff before I even submit my online application? Like personal info, essays, blah blah blah.

Also, whens a good time to start my college apps/essays? Is it good to start early(obviously its always good, but I have to balance school/personal life too). I have already started on common app, and most of the apps are due November, which is 2 months away, so I'm not taking it too seriously. Is this what most people do?

Thanks in advance!

Writing a good essay takes a lot of time. You have to figure out what you’re saying, decide that it makes no sense, start over… You have to let the ideas percolate, and you have to edit it for sense, grammar, and consistency. If you wait until the last minute, it will look like it.

well that is basically what I am doing. I have already re-written three of my essays (out of three) twice, so I am slowly but surely doing it. I just don’t think I should be stressing myself over it like some people I know.

Like, what I am asking is should I get it done super early, or slowly do it

AFAIK, there is no advantage to submitting it before the deadline. OTOH, Early Action is wonderful because you know before you have to submit all the applications if you’ve been accepted to some schools.
