I talked to my guidance counselor to send my high school transcript to UIUC last week.
I checked my status occasionally but its keep saying they didn't receive them.
I thought my counselor might have forgotten to send them but I couldn't talk to my counselor cause my school was closed for few days due to bad weather.

It says transcripts (for Regular Admission) must be submitted by January 12 (which is today!) but mines still not in, does that mean I'm not eligible? UIUC have everything they need except my transcript. What should I do now?

A lot of schools experience a high volume of applications, and it takes time to short through all the paper work. Your transcript could possibly just be in a pile somewhere in the admissions office. Best double check with your GC though.

What you need to do is confrim your counselor has sent transcript. Your on-line account with UIUC may take up to a week after receipt to actually show it as part of your account.

Hi guys, actually for the transcript, isnt it self reported transcript? I emailed the admission officers and they said do not send in any transcripts. it is self reported with an internet link. you should email the admission office and ask for that link for self reported scores. it works for me, at least and my requirement for self reported transcript is checked.

^Only partly correct [U of I Admissions: Freshman Application Procedures](Page Not Found, Illinois Undergraduate Admissions)
All persons attending high school in the US and certain schools listed in foreign countries (it is a link in the page above) must have official transcripts sent; others from foreign countries self-report (and then confirm after being admitted).

My GS was out for few days because she was sick but I finally had a chance to talk to her today…and unfortunately she didn’t send them yet. She said she’ll send it as soon as possible but am I too late?
I just emailed the Office of Undergraduate Admissions so I think I’ll get a reply soon but I’m not sure I can make it in :(

They will likely tell you to get it in pronto. What I think you would like to know is what does your counselor mean by “as soon as possible.” What is wrong with sending “now”?

Okay, I got a reply from the Office of Undergraduate Admissions. He said :

If your materials will be arriving after January 12, then you need to include a petition explaining why the materials are arriving late. It would be best if you send this in the same envelope with the transcripts. If you cannot do this, you can email me the petition and I will include it in your file.

What does he mean by petition? What should I write on it? Blaming it on my GS would make me look like an irresponsible person.

p.s. I just checked my status and transcript is still not in. I guess I have to go talk to my GS again tomorrow. And why is my application status “Application Status: Incomplete Items Outstanding” ?

Incomplete items outstanding means something is missing from your application file and in your case it is your transcript. Petition can just be an email or a letter explaining why transcript is late and asking to be considered despite its being late, which means explain in detail what happened, including starting with when you asked it to be sent and then why counselor did not get it out in time. If counselor delayed and sickness and weather were a factor, rely on that fact. It is not whining, it is what will get you considered for admission and not rejected for being late getting something in. Again, you need to determine that counselor has in fact sent the transcript so you can say that has been done in petition. I would also suggest that with email or letter, you send a copy of your transcript if you have one.
