transcript panic!

I've requested my transcript a few days after my grades have been posted (Super early June) and have been checking the UCI admissions site if they've received anything. Nope. Just my high school transcript. -_-

MSJC said they've sent most transcripts June 15... and yeah still nothing. I've even requested it again.

Anyone else--specifically anyone transferring to UCI or from MSJC) having problems with their transcripts?

This is a really silly question…but have you called Enrollment Services?

I keep checking myucla and it keeps telling me that my final transcript hasn’t been received but then I check my Degree Progress Report and it shows credit for the classes I’ve completed Spring Semester. Which leads me to believe UCLA just hasn’t updated it.

Call Enrollment Services or call Admissions at UCI. See what’s up.

I had the same issue with MSJC last year when I transferred. I picked up a copy of my transcript and delivered it to UCSD myself. I got a receipt and it was taken care of. You can’t trust MSJC with something this important.

I’m transferring from MSJC to UCSB this fall. I requested my transcripts to be sent to UCSB through MSJC’s website, and luckily for me, it was received late last month. I will admit that I would have preferred to hand deliver my transcripts to UCSB, but Santa Barbara is just too far away.

Relying on MSJC to perform any task for you is sketchy at best, so I would suggest getting your transcript and hand delivering it, or at the very least call both MSJC and UCI to find out what the problem is. I’m sure that if you explained your situation to UCI, they would be accommodating and extend your deadline. Don’t rely on my assumption however, find out for yourself.

It would suck to be stuck at MSJC another year, so I would do anything humanly possible to ensure that my transcripts got there one time. Good luck!

MSJC sucks, but I sent my transcripts and they got through, so I dunno

Ah, sorry to bump but I just felt the need to, lol.

I finally checked myucla (I haven’t checked it since Sat) and when I clicked on Admissions, it finally effing says they have received my final transcript! After probably like a month plus of waiting! ;|

I’ve always had good experiences with msjc, lol.

Just wanted to input some more, I shouldn’t even be on! Off to bed!

What happens when your transcripts are late?

I’m a CCC transfer student to UCLA. My transcripts will arrive after the deadline (July 15th).

What are the consequences of missing the deadline? (Assuming the consequences are the same for all UCs)

^worst case scenario: they revoke your acceptance.

they say hey i dont have your transcripts and then you send it again. then you hope they get it. its not really a big deal.

Hi jettisonfiat,

If you transcripts do not arrive by the deadline (July 15th), UCLA admissions will revoke your admissions. However, there is a grace period for your transcripts to arrive. If the problem is left unresolved, thus the admissions will revoke your admissions. If the transcripts have not yet arrived, or have arrived, admissions will still need to process those transcripts (that will take some time to do that).

They won’t revoke your admissions! Check the status on Monday and if not received send an email on the UCLA email system through your email account and explain. It will probably be fine - my son is transferring from PCC and they didn’t even get final grades posted till the first week in July. So he sent an email and the response was that the delay was okay. BTW, the PCC transcript arrived July 16.

July 15th is a “soft” deadline. While the UC’s prefer to have the transcripts in hand by the 15th in order to give them sufficient time for processing, most campuses don’t plan to have them completed until around July 31st.

I think that person was confused. I have heard from friends that schools such as Irvine ARE revoking people’s admissions because of late transcripts. I suppose TOO many students accepted their offer and want ways to revoke their admission because of it!

UCLA should make an exception as long as you let them know. They did tell us that if they had not received your final transcript, they would notify you!

UCLAUCB, I think you are confused. This what admissions have told me and you should call the office of admissions if you want more information. Admissions WILL revoke (according to the admission advisor on the phone) if your transcript problem is left UNRESOLVED. This what I have heard on the phone and putting it on here.

I just called UCLA to ask about my transcript, (it still says pending on my ucla& i sent it over a month ago) and they never got it! Talk about transcript panic. Grrr. Another reason to hate cc

I can understand general incredulity regarding these things, but I didn’t post because I was bored and wanted to make something up: I posted information that I got first-hand in conversation with a UC admissions office. If I wanted to ■■■■■, I’d pick a topic that was more interesting or potentially inflammatory. You can still go ape**** if you’d like and post “well I heard that…” stuffs – that’s your prerogative. But I’m posting what I know, because I was the other guy on the telephone with admissions.

I spoke to UCSB out of concern regarding my own transcripts, which thankfully ended up arriving in a timely manner. What I was told, in no uncertain terms, was that, UC-wide, 15 July is a soft deadline and that the UCs “strongly suggest” that they’re postmarked – not necessarily received – by the 15th.

They expect to continue processing transcripts through the end of the month. When August rolls around, --then-- you’d be putting your acceptance in jeopardy.

But hey – stress if you’d like. : )

Best,

T

Well said, T! Too many people on CC stressing without checking the facts with the source-the school!
