Hey guys okay say I take chem 1A and got a C and I take it again and got an A. I understand that the C wont be taken out of my transcript but will the UC's look at the A instead of the C?

they’re not gonna go, “oh look he had to take the same class twice to get an A so lets ignore the C he got the first time!” You’re better off just getting an A in the next chem course to show you know your stuff.

Well when u were in high school they take the higher grade of anything even if u took HS chem twice they’ll take the higher grade same w/ SAT scores.

no they didn’t. they averaged it.

“If a student repeats a course used to satisfy the “a-g” requirements in which he or she originally earned a grade of C or higher, the repeated grade will not be used in calculating the GPA.”

http://www.universityofcalifornia.edu/educators/counselors/resources/askuc/answers/repeating.html#A1

We do not allow courses to be retaken in which a ‘C’ grade or better was earned. The second grade will not be considered. We will only consider the retaken grade if the original grade was a ‘D’ or ‘F’ grade.

I recieved an F in a class my first semester of college(long long LONG story). Then I retook that class in the summer and recieved an A. I had to report BOTH grades, but my GPA still ended up being around 3.3, luckily. And I was accepted by UCI two weeks ago…I really wouldnt worry too much. you can still do well and be accepted as long as you explain what happened :] dont worry

UCD Admissions answered it.

so basically you took the class over again for nothing, sucksss
