Transcript/Recommendation Deadline

Quite curious about this.

Nowhere on the RPI admissions website can I find a specific deadline for when all high school materials need to be received. I've already submitted my Candidate's Choice application, but consequently my school has to send my transcripts and recommendations via postal mail. I believe the only reference I could find to the deadlines was one when I submitted my application, that "the deadline for these required materials is January 15."

Anybody care to clarify? This is my only non-eDocs application, so I don't know better. Is it a postmark deadline (as with NEU) or is that the actual cutoff date when they need to have my information? Guidance office sent my information today, and despite being a New Jersey resident I've little faith in it getting to Troy by the end of the week. Especially with the snow coming.

You should call the Admissions office for clarification to make yourself feel better, but you probably shouldn’t worry. When we went through this last year as long as the applicant gets his stuff in on time, most admissions offices are not rigorous about deadlines for the supporting materials from schools.

At at least one the places my son applied last year some material went missing, and the school was fine about having his GC fax replacements to them.

Schools usually set those deadlines to give people something to shoot for and stress over to get everything in on/around time. Usually they’re alright with bending it for a few people to make sure everything gets in.

Call admissions if you need to, they’ll probably be willing to work with you.
