According to Albert my transcript is still missing and it was sent November First from my school hopefully they also attached a copy of the transcript when they mailed the guidance recommendation in December, because they were not supposed to mail the transcript without the recommendation papers!

When I called NYU a few days ago they said they would email me if they did not have it and I am so worried I did not get the email or something, lol. How would I talk directly to an admissions counselor because I did this at Fordham University and they were missing my stuff but they actually had it all because what happened is I have both my parents last names with no hyphen and when I was registered in my school district where I currently live they put my moms last name as the middle and my dads last name as the last. So I always put both as the last name, how they should be, and then things get mixed up sometimes with how my school has it wrong! When I filled out the Common App. under the other name I put my name how it comes on the transcript so maybe they figured it out!

So who should I call because I have called general admissions and they just keep telling me to wait for an email?

Thanks!

I wouldn’t worry about it, seriously. I kept checking and checking and finally emailed my admissions counselor and she told me that they had the transcripts, albert was just very slow at updating itself or something along those lines. so unless they contact you about it, assume they have your transcript and it just hasn’t shown up online. don’t worry, on albert it still says missing transcript for me too, so I don’t think it’s anything you need to worry about!

My transcript is still missing too.

Yeah, so’s mine and when I emailed them they sent back a nice (But rather harassed-sounding) email saying that if something is missing, they will contact me.

And they haven’t.

Anyone know when admissions decisions are sent out?

NYU receives close to 40,000 applications every year. How many of those students do you think email admissions? Thousands? Essentially, you’re emailing them the exact same thing as a thousand other students, so they have to keep responding to the same email in the same way. It would drive you insane too.

Each of my schools seem to have a unique way of reporting missing documents. Some are very timely and informative (I sent my follow-up docs to a few schools the beginning of Feb and they were posted as “received” within 2 weeks). Others are oblivious or their websites are misleading. They all get tens of thousands of applications. But none are reporting missing my transcript but NYU. I freaked out the first time I saw it and rushed to my guidance counselor who resent it. If not for this forum, I wouldn’t know what was up with this.
