Transcript,Teacher's evaluation...Aaaa Wat?

this is the kinda question which I faced when I went my school for completing my forms......
I am in India,school pass-out....with CBSE qualifications.....
Now,my school dont know anything about how to complete thw form.........they dont know what is GPA,transcript n all.........they dont rank......
Help me out!!!!What should I do???

Uh, tell them yourself what they need to? Just show them step by step what they should write?
My math teacher can't even write "mathematics"..I have to spell it for her every time she completes the rec..

According to the CBSE system, we do not calculate the GPA. You will have to submit your school's grading limits as a part of the application along with the school profile and transcript.
This is how my Guidance Counselor mentioned in my recommendation.

"*Note : We do not calculate the GPA. Please refer to the grading limits for information"

As mentioned by Lakshya in the Indian Thread, and since both of us go to the same school. The transcripts are done as follows.

School name (Mention CBSE affiliated), Grade, School Marks, School Grades.

You will have to send your 9th and 11th final marks (unless you can convince the principal to send other marks), and the 10th board examination marks.

NOTE : if you feel that you have done considerably well in your Grade 12 examinations, you may add that in your transcript - but make sure u add it in another page as you may not want to send those marks to all your universities.

If your school does not rank then leave that question blank.........but if you have a clear idea on what % you rank in your class you may fill it up unless you feel that it may hinder your admissions (I am trying to not put my rank as i have stood in the top 20 - 17% to be exact). If your school does rank then you will have to fill up the boxes.

I think i mentioned everything......if you still have any doubts then pm.

We dont rank either. I highlighted the questions that my counselor needed to fill out because he got really confused with the whole application.

Later he was like, "uhh I ranked you as top 20%... is that ok?" and I was like, "WHAT? think about it Mr x, that means that I'm ranked near 100 out of 500 students." And he was like.. "oh that's right. How wrong of me. Top 5% then"
And I was like SWEET!! (I was only expecting top 10% or 15% lol)

So the moral of that story is, make sure your counselor knows what he is doing. My 'counselor' was so busy with other things that he just whizzed past my applications and just filled in things without thinking. You should write down all your ECs (like a resume) and hand in your transcript so they can actually see what you have accomplished, and fill out the apps accordingly.

Yep. You must always give them something like a resume. You shouldn't expect the GC to remember every detail of your accomplishments.
