Transcript transfer problems (private to public)

I attended a small classical school (about 70 high school students) for 3 semesters and the guidance office at my new school has put all of my classes (which are easily "honors" level) on my official transcript as "standard." For instance, an excellent American literature class (we read Moby Dick in 10th grade) becomes "English II standard."

I have 97+ averages in every subject in 9th and 10th grade, and now as a senior am taking :

AP Bio
AP English Lit.
AP Calculus
AP Chem
German III honors
AP Government: US

and took these classes as a junior:

AP English Lang. (5) A A
AP World History (5) A A
AP Physics B (4) A A
German II Honors A A
Pre-Calculus Honors B A

I there any way I can show the colleges I apply to that I took very challenging courses in 9th and tenth grade? What will collegse actually see? Will they see my transcript form my old school?

Any advice is appreciated!

I don't know if colleges will want a transcript from your old school, but you should talk to your counselor about this. I don't think freshman/sophomore classes will make much of a difference, especially because you have almost all AP classes senior year, but it can't hurt to let them know.

Does your counselor know about your freshman/sophomore classes and believe they were "honors" level? Will he be able to mark that you took the "most challenging" curriculum avaliable? Also, if he agrees, he could write something like "The courses that Acriag took at his previous high school were the most challenging avaliable there; however, for administrative reasons, they were transferred as 'standard' courses".

If your counselor can't/won't do that and you still think you need to let the colleges know, then the only other option is to send either a transcript or a recommendation from your old school.

Thanks for the advice. I will hopefully meet with my guidance counselor in the coming weeks. If she will not change my transcript how do I go about submitting the official transcript from my old school? If she doesn't want me to do that, do I have a right to do it anyway?

Any suggestions are welcome!
