Transcript won't be in on time

Hi I just contacted my high school yesterday to see how long does it usually take for UC to receive my transcript, since I already requested one long time ago. Yet, it told me that my hs trancript won't come out till the end of July--precisely July 30th. I called my UC counsellor and she simply told me that my transcript has to be in (this is before I know my final transcript won't come out until July 30th) before the deadline and I only get 10 days extension. Or else my admission can be subjected to cancellation. I'm really confused about the whole situation...because last year they are couple of students from our school who went to berkeley and I dont know how they wouldve made it if berkeley is stubborn in terms of deadline. Anyways, I'm really nervous as I dont want to end up having no university to attend. Any help will do! Thanks!

My high school also will not be releasing final transcripts until July 30th. I asked if there could be any way that the transcripts could be out sooner, but the school simply said that it was up to the ministry, and usually they release it all on the same date.

I contacted the admissions officer at Cal and she said that I will simply need to get my transcript in whenever it is ready, but at the same time, she said that it was my responsibility to request for the transcript at an earlier date.

I dont know what to make of this and she wasnt clear on whether I could have a 15 day extension…on top of the time that it will take for the transcript to be delivered to Cal.

Well, the key here is that the admissions officer said it was your responsibility to ask for it earlier.

You did ask just that. She didn’t say you were responsible for it being sent or getting there, just that you had to make all reasonable efforts by requesting it be sent as early as possible. You did.

Document that in writing to the admissions officer - you made the request, report exactly what you were told in response. If you have any written evidence that you had requested the transcript, send a copy as well.

They can’t hold you responsible for the schools attitude. They could rescind if you never ordered the transcript, but not in this case.
