Can you lie or embellish your extracurricular activities?

Is it okay if you lie in your admission to a college? And how would they know?

If you want to be an immoral person, if you want to live the rest of your life knowing you got into a college on something other than your own skill, if you want to take the risk of getting caught and having the stain upon your acedemic record for good, then no one will stop you.

Heh. I wouldn't recommend it. But I have no inside information as far as how hard colleges try to verify your EC's. I wouldn't be abel to tell you to what level lying/embellishing is OK. Maybe you can make up a club and call yoruself the President and Harvard will never know, or maybe you can claim the title of statistics secretary of Key Club and Yale will spot it an reject you without a second thought. I have no idea whether or not it's physically possible to outright lie on your application, but I do have some idea of how morally reprehensible it is.

If you (hopefully) choose not to lie, good luck with your applications!

I was just wondering. I plan not to lie

Actually, the UCs are randomly checking up now.
